On my final Sunday at Marquette I preached from Philippians 1, in part on Paul's thanksfulness for the church at Philippi. That certainly reflects our heart for our church family at Marquette. As we begin our missionary travels I have many times experienced Paul's expression in Philippians 1:3 - "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you."
The following note was printed in the church bulletin, but in case someone missed it and just for the record I want to post it here.
Once again God has shown our family with great clarity His goodness and faithfulness through you dear people. We have certainly been blessed through your kindness to us! We have so much to thank you for that I am afraid I will forget something. Words cannot begin to properly express our deep gratitude for all the help you have given first loading our belngings into the moving trucks, taking furniture apart, special baked goods, meals, lawn care; then help with driving and painting; and finally with the many kind encouraging words, the very generous monetary gift from the church family and another from the deacons, the beautiful clock, the loving notes and gifts. By the way, the clock found its way to the mantle of our fireplace. Its beautiful chimes which fill our home will always remind us of the time we were blessed to be your pastor and pastor's wife. There is not a chance it will ever see my new office : ). There will always be a special place that you have in our hearts. Thank you for the honor of serving as your Senior Pastor these past nine years and the privilege of once again being one of the missionaries sent out under your watch care. We love you and will be praying for you.
With our love and prayers,
"See you later"
Pastor Canedy, Nancy, and family
